The Serra da Cantareira is a Brazilian mountain range located north of the city of São Paulo, with a 64,800 hectares of area. 23 includes the municipalities of São Paulo, Guarulhos, Mairiporã and Caieiras, separated by the Serra da Pirucaia.
Its southern slope belongs to the Parque Estadual da Cantareira, recently with 7,916 acres-the equivalent of 8 thousand football fields. Also has rigid rules of preservation of native Atlantic forest, carrying few trails.
